Feeling some Balance!
What a great Practice Today! Road my bike 4 miles to Yoga today and Sweat Bullets the entire time. I took a break yesterday and came back 10 times stronger today. 6 out 7 days is where i want to be right now. Going to continue biking to yoga and work everyday weather permitting. I am now Embracing my fears and breathing through those uncomfortable moments. You know those times in yoga when you think "I cant hold this posture another second!!!" Thats when i know its time to hold even longer and push those walls down. My body is strong and so is my Mind...no more doubt, no more fears. I positively affirming my beliefs to be successful in all avenues of life and im learning this through my practice. Grateful for my health, my family and all my supportive friends on this journey!
Bikram posture #4 Awkward Pose, in Sanskrit Utkatasana. It shapes and Tones your legs, heals chronically cold feet and builds internal heat. It also helps relieve rheumatism and arthritis in the legs and helps to cure slipped discs and problems in the lower spine. Namaste Peeps!

Day 2 was More Challenging than Day 1
As excited as i am about getting back a regular practice, today was a difficult day. Without judgement, i acknowledge how out of shape my body has become in 4 months, Its like starting all over again. It reminds me of the first time i did yoga, im sore in places i forgot existed. I feel a real challenge of working through this and knowing where my body is at each day. Today i sat out on my mat for the last 10 minutes of class. Just wasnt feelin' it. Tomorrow will be a different day full of different challenges, same as the life we live. Thats what i love about yoga. I work so many issues out on the mat about my life with out even thinking about the actual issues!
Posture #2 is Half Moon Pose, in sanskrit Ardha-Chandrasana! Strengthens every muscle in the bodies core, especially in the abdomen. Flexes and strengthens the Latissmus dorsi, oblique, deltoid and trapezious muscles! It increases the flexibility of the spine, promotes proper kidney function. Also, helps to cure enlargement of the spleen and liver. Half moon also firms and trims the waistline, thighs, hips, abdomen and buttocks.
<3 Namaste!

My First day Back to my Practice!
This was one of the most challenging classes i have ever taken. Reason being, i am completely out of shape, i have gained 17 lbs and my Body is a little jacked. All & All, i feel completely inspired and have missed this practice in my life! I am really excited for the days to come. I know the more i practice, the easier it becomes (physically). Mentally, it is a daily challenge depending on what is going on in my life. Again, this practice can only make me stronger and get me in touch with my center. Class #2 tomorrow morning!
1. Pranayama. As i i continue my Yoga journey, i will learn the Sanskrit names of all 26 postures and describe their benefits. Today is the first posture and the most important, Standing Deep Breathing...Pranayama... This Breathing Technique relaxes the body and the mind. It prepares you for the practice. It has many health benefits. Helps with shortness of breath, helps with asthma and is a huge stress reliever. Develops a steady mind, strong will power and good judgement. It isnt yoga without the breath! Namaste!
